O.P.I is wereldwijd de absolute nummer 1 in nagellakken, hand- en voetverzorging. Het beste bewijs daarvoor is dat er wereldwijd fabrieken bestaan die O.P.I namaken. Onlangs is er nog zo'n fabriek gesloten in China. Op het eerste zicht is 'fake' van 'echt' moeilijk te onderscheiden, maar op het vlak van de kwaliteit en de veiligheid van de producten des te meer.

Elk jaar spendeert O.P.I miljoenen dollars om namaak tegen te gaan. Dat is een moeilijke zaak, want vaak zijn hier criminele bendes bij betrokken.

Om zeker te zijn dat je een kwaliteitsvol en legaal O.P.I product in handen hebt richt je je best naar een officieel O.P.I verkooppunt. Goed om weten is dat O.P.I internetverkoop - door eender wie - absoluut verboden is en er grote straffen tegenover staan. Dat wil zeggen dat elke online verkoop van O.P.I per definitie illegaal is en de kans dat je een nepproduct in handen hebt heel erg groot is.

Belangrijk om te weten is dat niet enkel de aanbieder, maar ook de koper strafbaar gesteld kan worden. Opletten geblazen dus. O.P.I internationaal is meer dan ooit hard aan het optreden tegen deze praktijken.

OPI does not guarantee the genuineness, quality, or freshness of its products sold outside authorized salon channels. Such products may be adulterated or misbranded and may not bear legally-required batch code or ingredient information.

Internationally, OPI assigns specific country territories to its distributers. Sales by others into those territories from other countries, whether by the Internet or otherwise, violate the rights of those distributors and interfere with our contractual relations with them, as well as with our respective rights for prospective economic advantage. Such sales, which frequently involve false declarations and illegal shipment of flammable materials via U.S. mail, violate not only U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal Service laws, but also the import laws of the country of destination. Such actions may subject both sellers and purchasers to criminal sanctions, fines, and confiscation.

OPI brand products are intended for sale in professional beauty (salon) channels. We sell them to distributors or wholesalers who sell exclusively in those channels. Those distributors, in turn, sell exclusively to salons. OPI brand products sold outside these channels are improperly obtained and in violation of our agreements and commitments to distributors and salons. Unfortunately, those diverted products may not be current, or may be improperly and illegally labeled or of inferior quality, or may even be fake or counterfeit. OPI only guarantees or stands behind products sold through authorized channels. For OPI brand products, these do not include mass retail channels, the Internet, drug stores, or grocery stores.

Diversion ultimately hurts both salon professionals and salon clients. In addition, it deprives consumers of the professional care and advice that are necessary to enjoy these professional-use products.
